Cancellation Policy

Registration is only confirmed when full payment has been received from a participant.

If sufficient confirmed registrations have not been received 7 days in advance of the scheduled starting date and the workshop is cancelled, all confirmed participants will be notified immediately and receive a full refund.

If a participant chooses to cancel their confirmed registration, or cannot or does not attend the workshop, the following policies will apply

• The registered participant may invite another person to substitute their place in the workshop in which they are registered up to 24 hours of start time at no charge;

• If notice of requested cancellation is received 7 or more days from the scheduled starting date, a full refund will be offered.

• If notice of requested cancellation is received between 3 and 7 days from the scheduled starting date, a voucher will be offered for another workshop held in the future.

• If notice of requested cancellation is received 3 or less days from the scheduled starting date, no refund or voucher will be offered

• No refunds or vouchers will be offered once the workshop has commenced.

Our Animal Park is fully operational in times of wet weather and all workshops will proceed. We have multiple indoor and outdoor covered areas to proceed with our learning and discovery sessions. Should severe weather see Animal Park closure the session will be rescheduled to a later date.

Participants may have extenuating circumstances that prevent them from undertaking their course. Where evidence can be successfully provided to support the participant’s circumstances, workshop fees may be refunded or partially refunded. COVID 19

The health and well-being of our workshop participants, visitors, staff and animals are of our highest priority.

The Byron Bay Wildlife Sanctuary COVID 19 Safety Plan is available for inspection.

We have limited the number of participants enrolled in our workshops to ensure we comply with social distancing restrictions.

If cancellation of a workshop occurs due to government restrictions a full refund will be offered.

Animal Welfare

We are committed to supporting and participating in the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals. Any person/s who is witnessed or suspected of cruelty to any animals on site will be immediately asked to leave the premises (in the case of program participants they will be removed from the park and a parent or guardian will be called). The Byron Bay Wildlife Sanctuary will report any instances of animal abuse or cruelty to the police for further investigation and prosecution.

Companion Card - State & Territories of Australia

Only the primary card holder is entitled to a concession rate.Companion Cards are issued to people with significant, permanent disabilities, so that they can participate in activities for which they require the assistance of a companion.The companion or carer receives free of charge entry for the sole purpose of assisting the disabled guest.

Health Cards (HCC)

Student Card

Only the primary card holder is entitled to a concession rate.A Student Card is issued to students studying on a full time basis.Accepted Student Cards are:(ST) Full time student Australian only(ST+) Full time student Australian & InternationalStudent Cards are only valid with current date or a transport sticker supplied by your institution.

Seniors Card

Birthday Party Terms and Conditions:

A minimum of 15 people for each birthday package type. The price listed on the website is per person attending.

  • The age group is open from 2yrs-99yrs. All attendees under 2 years old are free.

  • A deposit of 25% secures the booking.

  • Balance of payment due on or before the first guests’ arrival.

  • Many undercover areas are available, but in event of heavy rain deposit can be transferred to another date.

  • Choice of wildlife with Keeper’s approval. 

  • Private experience times will be discussed with the host upon arrival.

  • Minimum of 15 food and beverage packages total per order.

  • Must be booked 7 days in advance. The Byron Bay Wildlife Sanctuary will attempt to accommodate more urgent bookings but cannot guarantee availability.

  • Your booking will be confirmed when you receive a confirmation email from us (normally within 48 hours).

  • Standard cancellation policy applies to all Birthday Party Bookings.

Annual Memberships

By becoming a member of the Byron Bay Wildlife Sanctuary ("Sanctuary"), you agree to abide by the following terms and conditions:

1. Membership Validity and Personal Use

  • Memberships are valid for a full calendar year from the date of purchase.

  • Memberships are non-transferable and are assigned to an individual’s name. Each person must purchase their own membership (e.g., parents cannot share an adult membership; each parent must have their own membership pass).

  • Memberships are only valid for the person named on the membership card, and identification may be requested upon entry.

2. Membership Benefits

  • Members are entitled to a 10% discount across the venue, including retail purchases, food, and beverages. This discount cannot be used in conjunction with any other offers, promotions, or discounts.

  • To redeem entry and access membership benefits, members must present their valid membership card at the time of purchase or upon entry.

3. Personal Information

  • All members must provide their full name and date of birth during the sign-up process.

  • For junior memberships (children aged 2-16 years), parents or guardians must provide their own contact details to ensure membership information is delivered to the appropriate inbox.

4. General Admission Terms

  • Membership grants general admission to the Sanctuary during regular opening hours. Please check our website for current opening times.

  • The Sanctuary is closed on Christmas Day, Boxing Day, and New Year’s Day. Additionally, the park may close due to inclement weather or other unforeseen circumstances without prior notice.

  • Memberships do not include access to special events, experiences, or programs that may require additional fees.

5. Cancellations, Refunds, and Transfers

  • Membership fees are non-refundable, even in cases where the Sanctuary is temporarily closed due to weather conditions, maintenance, or other reasons.

  • Memberships cannot be paused, extended, or transferred to another person under any circumstances.

6. Lost or Stolen Membership Cards

  • In the event of a lost or stolen membership card, please notify the Sanctuary’s front desk immediately. A replacement fee may apply for issuing a new card.

7. Conduct and Compliance

  • Members are expected to adhere to all Sanctuary rules and regulations, which are in place to ensure the safety of both guests and wildlife.

  • The Sanctuary reserves the right to cancel memberships without refund if a member is found in violation of Sanctuary policies, engages in inappropriate conduct, or abuses membership privileges.

8. Liability Waiver

  • The Sanctuary is not liable for any personal injury, loss, or damage to property that may occur during your visit. Members visit the Sanctuary at their own risk.

9. Updates to Terms and Conditions

  • The Sanctuary reserves the right to amend or update these terms and conditions at any time without prior notice. It is the responsibility of members to stay informed of any changes by visiting our website or contacting our front desk.

By purchasing a membership, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to abide by these terms and conditions.
