Keeper for a Day -
$100 per child
We offer a limited number of "KEEPER FOR A DAY" experiences during the school term and holidays at The Byron Bay Wildlife Sanctuary. If you’re aged between 12 and 18, you can spend an exciting day behind the scenes with one of our senior keepers.
During this immersive experience, you will:
Discover what a day in the life of a sanctuary keeper is like through interactive, hands-on activities
Learn about local wildlife conservation efforts
Participate in animal husbandry practices
Observe wildlife and their natural behaviors
Create and provide enrichment for our wildlife residents by making safe treats and toys that encourage play and stimulate natural behaviors
Additionally, you will go on a sanctuary tour with a designated keeper, meet all the wildlife residents, watch our interactive keeper talks including a reptiles talk, free flight bird presentation, and kangaroo and emu feeding sessions, and enjoy a private snake and lizard encounter.
This one-day workshop is perfect for young people aged 12 to 18 who are independently physically capable. Book now to secure your spot and experience the thrill of being a keeper for a day at The Byron Bay Wildlife Sanctuary. Limited availability, so don’t miss out on this unique opportunity!
