This paint and sip class is offered on Saturday afternoon the 6th of January from 1 til 5pm.
In this class you'll learn how to paint from life with a beautiful native flower display to inspire you! You'll also do some charcoal sketching, learn about composition and just have a great time!
The class includes everything you'll need including the canvas (30x40cm), paints and brushes (if you do have brushes of your own or paints feel free to bring them along!).
As a paint and sip event the class also includes wine plus some antipasto refreshments available throughout.
All funds raised from this art class go directly back to building Lemonade the Black Cockatoo her new forever home at The Sanctuary.
ABOUT YOUR TEACHER:
Cat Gerke is a Northern Rivers artist focused on contemporary still-life painting. She paints from her home studio in Clunes, New South Wales, surrounded by some of the best produce farms, restaurants and cafes in the region. Her work is a celebration of friends, family and lovers coming together around food and creating memories.
Studying painting and drawing at the College of Fine Arts in the late 2000s allowed Cat to develop her own painting style which blended realism with an expressive application of paint on canvas. Within her paintings, she focuses on contrasting colour palettes to create energy and flow throughout the work. She also focuses on negative space, directive lighting and pattern within her works to create balance and celebrate the joy and gift of great food.
She is represented in a number of galleries throughout Australia and has had numerous national and international exhibitions.
